通

Permeate, pass through, pervade; perceive, know thoroughly; communicate; current; free, without hindrance, unimpeded universal; e.g. [lang id =1028]神通 supernatural, ubiquitous powers. There are categories of [lang id =1028]五通, [lang id =1028]六通, and [lang id =1028]十通, all referring to supernatural powers; the five are

(1) knowledge of the supernatural world;

(2) (sa) deva vision;

(3) (sa) deva hearing;

(4) knowledge of the minds of all others;

(5) knowledge of all the transmigrations of self and all others. The six are the above together with perfect wisdom for ending moral hindrance and delusion. The ten are knowing all previous transmigrations, having (sa) deva hearing, knowing the minds of others, having (sa) deva vision, showing (sa) deva powers, manifesting many bodies or forms, being anywhere instantly, power of bringing glory to one's domain, manifesting a body of transformation, and power to end evil and transmigration.

作用自在無礙的意思， 指通力、 神通。 通有三種， 即一、 報得通力， 三界諸天都有五種的神通， 乃至鬼神也有小神通， 這些神通都是依靠果報而自然感得； 二、 修得通力， 三乘聖人修習三學而得六通， 外道仙人修禪定也能得五通； 三、 變化通力， 三乘聖人以神通的力量變現種種的境界事物。
